SwRI-DoSS Opens New Lab Facility

SwRI Boulder Optics Lab/Clean Room Facility Inaugurated
The Department of Space Studies opened its first on-site laboratory facility last month. This small new facility houses a stable, 16-foot optical bench, a class-10,000 flow bench, and various associated lab equipment, making possible the integration and test of both optical and some types of UV sensors for rocket, Shuttle, and airborne research projects underway here. Far larger and more complete vacuum calibration facilities are available to Department researchers at our main laboratories in San Antonio.
